Let's Measure the Wind

With this scenario, the student can first learn about natural events. Can talk about the effects of natural events. One can learn by researching that natural events can sometimes have negative consequences and sometimes have positive consequences. While learning that the speed of the wind can be measured from these natural events by designing experiments and models, one can also realize that the power of the wind can be converted into energy. After making this design, the study results of the product can be presented by using data collection methods. Please click to access the learning scenario.

Mars Exploration Vehicle

A Mars mission can include many disciplines. However, if you want to solve a problem in your classroom, the first thing you need is of course curiosity. Everything can be easier when the first step to learning is curiosity. So, what should we do first for curiosity? You can try many different methods to do this. We chose to ask the right question. Our robotics team started the research process with the answers we received and came up with solution suggestions with a model.

STEM Alliance-Lenovo Competition:Turning Waste Into Educational Wonder In the competition organized within the scope of the 2023 Back to School Campaign, we carried out studies to transform waste into an educational marvel. In the competition we participated in with our school's LEGO team, we traveled back in time to the old age years of today's children. While doing this, we talked about the importance of our religious holidays. Generation Z has aged but has not lost touch with technology. For this reason, we designed a chocolate box lid that opens when guests see it during holidays. In this study, you will need a cardboard box and Arduino basic set. Of course, also simple codes...

STEM EDUCATION FOR TEACHERS

Resim
I participated in this study organized by the district education directorate as a STEM instructor. The seminar lasted two days. The first day of the training was held theoretically, and the second day was completed with workshops. During the education process; STEM subjects, introducing the scientix platform and the criteria for being a STEM school were mentioned.

The Mysterious World of Bees

Resim
The Mysterious World of Bees Bees are one of the most important creatures in terms of sustainability. It has many benefits, from the proliferation of plants to honey, which is an indispensable nutrient in our healthy diet. Have you ever wondered about the life of these little creatures? We wondered about this and found very interesting information. First of all, we took our students on a mysterious journey in the world of bees. We helped them learn by having fun with cartoons. By the way, we learned that they danced to find the direction of the food. This was the most interesting aspect of our study. Because we danced a lot to explain the location of the food around us. Then another new piece of information... Are bees' honeycombs made of hexagons? I wonder what benefit this could have in our daily lives? Here are the excellent ideas of our students...

The Magic of Nature: Biomimicry

Sea Breeze: Fish Scales Have you ever examined the scales of fish? Why are they so bright, colorful and symmetrical? Here's a great topic to explore. In addition to their beauty, fish scales also have an incredible design in terms of communication, camouflage and movement. In this study, we decided to make biosimulations inspired by living creatures in nature. As the Magic of Nature: Biomimicry project team, we decided to first explore the world of fish. While doing this, we also obtained a lot of new information. For example, the need for light to see, the characteristics between living and non-living things, the pattern on fish scales and many more... Then we drew the bags of our dreams with designs similar to these stamps. The most fun part was turning these designs into real bags.

MELODY OF STEAM

Resim
Our Melody of STEAM project was designed in a structure that we think is a first in its field. We connected this project with The Magic of Nature: Biomimicry project with a loop. While our students go on a journey in the world of fish with the biomimicry project, they also discover the mathematics and art in the scales of fish with the Melody of STEAM project. While doing this, they also participate in activities to recognize and produce orff instruments. As a continuation of this study, they also got to know the life and characteristics of bees and the relationship of these features with art.
